::The check in process was smooth; however the map they provide you to find the actual car is extremely poor. They tell you to go straight when instead you should be turning left. Took 10 min to find the car. No signs anywhere. The first car they offered had a sign that said "passed Eldan test", yet it reeked of cigarette smoke. I have rented several hundred cars in my life and that was a first. Not sure why they thought that was acceptable. We got a second car that was completely scratched up (we took photos) with squeaky breaks but it drove well on the mountains of the Golan. We returned the car to Haifa thinking they are closing at 6pm as listed google only to find out that they close at 5pm. Luckily we got there right on time. There was no issue returning the car. You have to simply lower your expectations when renting a car in Israel as the other car rental companies are far worse.

::This Eldan branch, which is also affiliated with Enterprise car rental, offers a horrid and embarrassing level of customer service. You should stay away at all costs. I rent very frequently from Enterprise/ National in the US and abroad and I can say the level of customer service and deceit is abnormal and speaks volume to their approach to customer service. We were looking to rent a van in Jerusalem. Eldan was the only agency with vans left, or so we thought. On the morning of the rental pickup, I received an email in Hebrew saying they were out of vans but “they are pleased to offer us 2 class F vehicles.” I responded almost instantly and said that that’s fine even though I was admittedly a little diasspointed in paying double for gas in Israel. I never heard back from the representative who emailed me. When I arrived at the branch, they said my resevstion was rejected. When I showed them the email, they told me I needed to make another reservation. I responded by saying the email did not even hint at that and the representative didn’t bother to respond so how was I supposed to know?! Ultimately they said the only thing they could do was offer me 2 cars at market price. The car we had originally booked was about $100 USD, the van from Eldan was $255. They told us that it would be over $200 for the first car alone. I was shocked and disgusted at their complete lack of situational awareness, empathy and customer service. As a frequent rental car customer, I can also say to stay away from them at all costs, along with enterprise. They are much better options including Sixt (much cheaper), Avis and Hertz which are all on the same street anyway. Additionally I will be filing a complaint with Enterprise since I have status with them to share this experience and to let them know I’d never rent from any locations in Israel which are run through Eldan car rental.

::8.27.17 - Enterprise is located in the El Ad hotel and it's across the street from Budget, which is where all the other car rentals offices are located. The car attendant was very nice and offered a lot of advice driving to Eilat. Overall, very satisfied with the pickup, but let's see how the drop off will work.
